Adult digital literacy Program
Mondays & Wednesdays from 9:30AM to 11:30AM
At SCDC, we offer friendly, easy-to-follow classes for adults who want to feel more comfortable with today’s technology.
This class is perfect for anyone with little or no experience with computers — you don’t need to know anything to get started!
Together, we’ll learn how to turn on a computer, use a mouse, type on a keyboard, search the web, and stay safe online. We’ll also explore how to download apps, create accounts, check your bank balance, and connect with loved ones on social media.
And don’t worry — we’ll also show you how to do all of this on your smartphone!

What language is this class taught in?
Our class is taught in both English and Spanish so that everyone feels comfortable and included.
What are the requirements to join?
The only requirement is that you live in the Southeast Los Angeles (SELA) region: Bell, Bell Gardens, Commerce, Cudahy, Huntington Park, Lynwood, Maywood, South Gate, Vernon, and unincorporated communities like Florence-Firestone and Walnut Park. Everyone is welcome regardless of experience, background, or age!
Can I join in the middle of the semester?
Yes, you are welcome to join at any time! Just contact us and we’ll help get you started.
Where is the class held?
The class is held at the Bell Tech Center, located at 4357 Gage Avenue, Bell, CA 90201. Contact us if you need help finding us!
Is there a cost to join?
No — this class is completely free! It is offered at no cost to all eligible community members.

Do I need to bring anything to class?
Just bring yourself and an open mind! Optionally, bring your smartphone if you have one. Everything else will be provided.
Is parking available?
We have plenty of free parking behind our building, in which you can access via Federal Avenue.
