Frequently Asked Questions

What are the qualifications to register my child?

For Summer Tech Camp, we just have one restriction! Students must reside within the SELA region: Bell, Bell Gardens, Commerce, Cudahy, Florence-Firestone, Huntington Park, Lynwood, Maywood, South Gate, Vernon, and Walnut Park.

How many sessions can my child attend?

Due to high demand, each student can enroll in up to 2 of the 3 available sessions.

If your child has specific dietary restrictions, you’ll also have the option to complete a separate form with additional details.

When does registration open?

Our registration form typically goes live around late April and/or early May. Keep an eye out on our social media for any updates.

Can you group my child with their friends/siblings?

Unfortunately, no. Summer Tech Camp encourages individual growth, so siblings and friends are placed in separate groups to help them meet new people. They can still spend time together during free time and lunch!

Does my child need to bring their own food?

We provide free breakfast and lunch for all campers. You’re always welcome to pack a favorite snack, or send your child with their own meals if you prefer.

Is there a fee to attend our Summer Tech Camp?

Not at all! Our camp is fully funded by generous sponsors, so there’s no cost to attend.

Does my child need any prior experience?

No prior tech experience is required! We welcome beginners, but because this is a STEAM camp, students should be comfortable reading independently and have a basic understanding of math.

Who is allowed to pick up my child from camp?

Only adults listed on your Pick-Up Authorization form (18 or older) can pick up your child.

We cannot release your child to anyone not listed, even relatives like grandparents, older siblings, or aunts/uncles.

As a parent of a camper, can I volunteer?

You can volunteer as a parent. However, we have a lengthy verification process for anyone over the age of 18 to volunteer with us.

My child has dietary or medical allergies, are accommodations available?

Yes, absolutely! Please be sure to include any allergy information in your child’s application so our team can take the necessary precautions.

If your child has specific dietary restrictions, you’ll also have the option to complete a separate form with additional details.
