Junior Classes

Every class is hands-on, playful, and built for ages 7–12. Big ideas made kid-sized.

Build a Sea Creature

Students will bring the deep sea to life using cardboard, paint, and craft materials to build their very own three-dimensional sea creature. From anglerfish to giant squid, campers will learn about real deep sea animals while developing their engineering and design skills!

+ Session 1 + Tinkering + Art

LEGO Robotics

In Introduction to LEGO Robotics, kids learn how to build and program their own robots using LEGO kits! You’ll snap together fun designs with motors and sensors, then bring them to life with beginner-friendly coding.

+ Session 2 + Robotics

Electro Snap!

In this fun and wacky class, kids will build crazy chain-reaction machines inspired by Rube Goldberg! You’ll use everyday objects like dominoes, balls, ramps, and string to complete simple tasks in the most over-the-top way possible.

+ Session 3 + Electricity + Circuits

3D Underwater

What does your perfect underwater world look like? Students will use beginner-friendly game design tools to build and program their own virtual reality deep sea environment, populating it with creatures, terrain, and hidden surprises for other players to discover!

+ Session 1 + VR + Game Design

Rube Goldberg

In this fun and wacky class, kids will build crazy chain-reaction machines inspired by Rube Goldberg! You’ll use everyday objects like dominoes, balls, ramps, and string to complete simple tasks in the most over-the-top way possible.

+ Session 2 + Tinkering

Dash and Dot

Kids team up with two friendly robots to learn the basics of coding and problem-solving! Using easy-to-learn apps, you’ll program Dash and Dot to move, light up, dance, and even talk.

+ Session 3 + Robotics

Deep Sea Geology Lab

From tectonic shifts to underwater earthquakes, the deep sea is ground zero for some of Earth’s most powerful forces. Students will conduct experiments exploring plate movement, seafloor spreading, and the geological wonders hidden beneath the ocean’s surface!

+ Session 1 + Science + Geology

Bioluminescence Science

Why do some deep sea creatures glow? Students will uncover the chemistry behind bioluminescence, conduct glowing experiments, and explore how this incredible adaptation helps creatures survive in total darkness!

+ Session 2 + Biology + Chemistry

Weird Science of the Sea

The deep sea is home to the strangest and most bizarre phenomena on the planet, and in this class, we celebrate all of it! Students will channel their inner mad scientist as they conduct wild, crazy experiments based on the mysteries of the ocean.

+ Session 3 + Biology + Chemistry

Junior Camp FAQ

Questions from parents of our younger campers.

What age is Junior Camp for?

Junior Camp is for students in grades 2–6, generally ages 7–12. We design every activity to be approachable and confidence-building for this age group.

Does my child need any tech experience?

None at all! Junior Camp is built from the ground up for beginners. If your child has used a tablet or played a video game, they’re ready. We start with visual, no-typing-required tools like Scratch.

How many sessions can my child attend?

Campers may attend a maximum of 2 out of the 3 sessions. Each session runs 2 weeks and has completely different curriculum, so attending multiple sessions means more learning — not repeated content.

What should my child bring to camp?

Just a backpack, a water bottle, and a snack for morning break. We provide all devices, materials, and a full lunch. Closed-toe shoes are highly recommended!
